Flora Brovina was an Albanian poet, activist, and doctor born on September 30, 1949 in Albania. She is best known for her poetry collection entitled “Verma emrin tim” (Call Me by My Name), which showcases her profound talent and creativity. Not only did she excel in literature, but also excelled in the medical field, training as a pediatrician in Zagreb. Her strong dedication to women’s rights activism is not only inspiring but also impactful, influenced significantly by her upbringing and experiences. Flora Brovina’s resilience was tested during the Kosovo War when she endured kidnapping and imprisonment, yet still continued to advocate for justice and peace through her writing and actions.
