About Fernanda Ribeiro
Fernanda Ribeiro is a Portuguese long-distance runner, born on June 23, 1969 in the city of Penafiel. She is best known for winning a gold medal at the 1996 Summer Olympics and holding Portugal’s record for Olympic medals.
Prior to her running career, she played soccer for FC Porto from 1982 to 1992. Ribeiro continued her success as an athlete by competing in the Sydney Olympics in 2000, where she secured a bronze medal.
