Feist, born on February 13, 1976 in Canada, is a folk singer known for her indie music. She gained critical acclaim for her albums Let it Die and The Reminder. At the 2008 Juno Awards, she won five awards, including Songwriter of the Year and Artist of the Year.
Before her fame as a musician, Feist aspired to be a writer and sang in choirs as a child. She also performed as a dancer at the Calgary Winter Olympics when she was twelve years old which later became inspiration for her “1234” music video.
Her music has been featured in popular shows such as Grey’s Anatomy, The Inbetweeners, and Parenthood. Additionally, she wrote “Fire in the Water” for the film The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.
Born Leslie Feist in Amherst, Nova Scotia to artistic parents – an abstract expressionist painter father and ceramist mother.
