Before gaining fame as an actress, Grant left home at age 18 and lived in Mexico City where she did Mexican language commercials. She later adopted the stage name “Grant,” inspired by the street she grew up on.
Grant was married to actor Stephen Collins of 7th Heaven fame. However, after twenty-seven years of marriage, she filed for divorce in 2012 and it was finalized in 2015. The couple had a daughter named Kate prior to their divorce.
