About Fatima Whitbread
Fatima Whitbread was born on March 3, 1961, in London, England. She is a former javelin thrower who achieved international success during her career.
Whitbread won a bronze medal at the 1984 Olympics and a silver medal at the 1988 Olympics. Her early life saw her being adopted by her javelin coach as a child and attending Dilkes County Primary School, Culverhouse Secondary School, and Torells School.
In addition to her Olympic success, Whitbread also set a world record for the javelin throw in 1986 and went on to win a gold medal at the World Championships that same year.
Her personal life included marriage to Andrew Norman from 1997 to 2006 with whom she had one son.
