About Fatima Moreira de Melo
Fatima Moreira de Melo is a Dutch field hockey striker who has gained recognition for her successful career with the Dutch national team. Born in Rotterdam on July 4, 1978, she made her debut for the senior national team in 1997 and went on to win a silver medal at the 2004 Olympics followed by a gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Aside from her sporting achievements, Moreira de Melo also holds a master’s degree in law which she obtained in 2006. In addition, she was honored as the Rotterdam Sportswoman of the Year in 2006 and later became a spokeswoman for Rabobank.
Moreira de Melo has been romantically linked to tennis player Raemon Sluiter and is proud of her parents Justiniano and Willy.
