About Farah Pahlavi
Farah Pahlavi, born on October 14, 1938 in Tehran, Iran, served as the Queen Consort of Iran from 1959 to 1967 and later became Empress Consort until her exile in 1979. She was the only Empress named in post-Islamic Iran.
Prior to becoming royalty, she met the Shah of Iran, Mohammed Reza Pahlavi, in 1959 and married him later that year. Farah Pahlavi is celebrated for championing various educational, health and cultural organizations during her reign which made her highly popular among the people.
Her family life includes her four children with the Shah: Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi, Princess Farahnaz Pahlavi, Prince Ali Reza Pahlavi, and Princess Leila Pahlavi.
