About Faith Leech
Faith Leech (born March 31, 1941) is an Australian swimmer known for her achievements in freestyle swimming. She was born in Bendigo, Australia.
At the 1956 Summer Olympics held in Melbourne, Leech secured a gold medal in the 4 x 100m freestyle relay and a bronze medal in the 100m individual freestyle event.
Prior to gaining fame as an Olympian, she set an unofficial world record for swimmers under the age of 12 by completing the 100-yard freestyle race with a time of 1 minute and 7.1 seconds.
After retiring from professional swimming at just 15 years old, Faith Leech remained involved in promoting Olympic sports. She has two sons named Adam and Troy with her partner Mitch Tuohy.
