Eva Mylott (1875-02-27) was an Australian contralto opera singer, known for being the grandmother of actor Mel Gibson. Mylott’s career in opera began after her family moved to Sydney to facilitate her chances of joining an opera company.
In 1914, she toured with the Metropolitan Opera alongside a protege of the acclaimed singer Nellie Melba. She had two children, one of whom was Hutton Gibson, who is known as Mel Gibson’s father.
