About Etta James
Etta James, born on January 25, 1938 in Los Angeles, California, was a renowned blues singer known for her hits “At Last” and “Something’s Got a Hold on Me”. Throughout her career, she garnered multiple awards including Best Traditional Blues Album. Her single “Dance with Me, Henry” helped propel her into stardom as it made the Hot Rhythm & Blues Tracks chart.
Etta James received a Grammy Hall of Fame Award for her song “At Last” and released her first album in 1960 followed by her last in 2011. In 1969, she married Artis Mills and they had two children together. Tragically, Etta James passed away from leukemia in January 2012.
