Estelle Winwood was a prominent English film and stage actress, born on January 24, 1883, in England. She gained recognition for her role in the 1961 film, The Misfits, where she starred alongside legendary actors such as Marilyn Monroe and Montgomery Clift.
Prior to achieving fame in the world of cinema, Winwood faced opposition from her father who did not support her pursuit of an acting career. Despite this disapproval, she defiantly joined the Lyric Stage Academy in London to pursue her passion.
In addition to her notable role in The Misfits, Estelle Winwood appeared alongside Clark Gable and other iconic figures from Hollywood’s golden era. Throughout her lifetime, she married four times but did not have any children of her own
