Erin Brockovich is a legal clerk, environmental activist and consultant best known for her fight against the Pacific Gas & Electric Company over water contamination from hexavalent chromium. Before that she worked at Kmart as a management trainee and even won Miss Pacific Coast in 1981! Afterward, she was employed at Girardi & Keese which specialized in asbestos exposure injury claims. She married her first husband Shawn Brown in 1982 (they later divorced in 1987). Her story was made into a movie starring Julia Roberts – who won an Oscar for it – aptly named ‘Erin Brockovich’.
