About Eric Cong Phan
Eric Cong Phan is a Canadian martial artist born on August 14, 1995, in Toronto. He gained recognition as a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) practitioner and achieved first place in the 2019 IBJJF Toronto Open. In 2014, he became the Europeans Purple Belt Champion, and he previously won first place in the 2012 IBJJF Toronto Open Juvenile division.
Prior to his martial arts career, Phan began practicing taekwondo at the age of ten before adding Muay Thai, karate, and boxing to his arsenal. He started training in jiu-jitsu in July of 2010.
Known for his adept use of techniques such as the rear naked choke, Eric is affiliated with the Jiu-Jitsu For Life team and often shares glimpses of his training on social media platforms like Instagram.
