Emma Thompson is an iconic actress who won the Best Actress Oscar for her role as Margaret Schlegel in Howards End. She also took home the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for writing Sense and Sensibility, which she starred in. Her other notable films include Dead Again, Much Ado About Nothing, Nanny McPhee, Love Actually and Stranger Than Fiction. Emma was part of the all-female Footlights sketch comedy troupe in college, where she co-directed their first revue called Women’s Hour. In 2004 she played Professor Sybill Trelawney in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and voiced Mrs Potts in 2017’s Beauty and the Beast. After divorcing Kenneth Branagh (her Much Ado About Nothing co-star) in 1995, Emma married Greg Wise three years later; they have two children – Tindyebwa and Gaia.
