About Emma Myles
Emma Myles is an American TV actress known for her role as Leanne Taylor in the popular Netflix series Orange Is the New Black. She was born on June 30, 1987, in the United States. Myles and her castmates won the SAG Award for Best Comedy Ensemble in both 2015 and 2016.
Prior to her acting career, Myles was a gymnast until an injury ended her athletic pursuits at age 14. Instead, she focused on high school theater and eventually worked with playwright Eve Ensler after choosing not to attend the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Myles grew up dealing with family issues including losing her father to alcoholism. After living in New York City for over a decade, she moved to California for her role in Orange is the New Black. In addition to her television work, she played Simone in the film Alone With You released in 2021 and has been involved in a long-term relationship with Darcy Cadman.
