About Emily Post
Emily Post was a journalist and author known for her bestselling manners manual, “Etiquette in Society, in Business, in Politics, and at Home,” published in 1922. Born on October 27, 1872 in Baltimore, Maryland, she began her career by writing articles for publications such as Harper’s and Scribner’s before becoming an etiquette columnist for The Bell Syndicate.
In addition to her literary work, Post also published several novels in the early 1900s. She established the Emily Post Institute in 1946 as a continuation of her legacy.
She married banker Edwin Main Post in 1892 and had two sons with him before divorcing due to his affairs with actresses.
