About Emily Althaus
Emily Althaus (born November 25, 1986) is an American actress, widely recognized for her portrayal of Maureen Kukudio on the popular Netflix original series Orange is the New Black. A native of Kentucky, she has used her platform as a public activist to advocate for gender equality and mental illness awareness.
Althaus graduated from Western Kentucky University in 2009 with a B.F.A. in performing arts, and made her television debut on Orange is the New Black during its third season in 2015. She later guest starred on Togetherness and starred in the thriller film The Strange Ones (2017). In addition to her television and film work, she made her Broadway debut in the revival of Harvey in 2012.
Born and raised in Kentucky, Emily Althaus continues to pursue acting while using her visibility to promote important social causes.
