About Ellie Simmonds
Ellie Simmonds is an English Paralympic swimmer who was born on November 11, 1994, in Walsall, England. She gained recognition for her achievements in swimming, winning two gold medals at the age of 13 during the 2008 Summer Paralympics in the 100m and 400m freestyle events. Simmonds went on to study Psychology at Loughborough University.
She developed a passion for swimming from a young age and began showing interest at just five years old. Throughout her career, she has set various world records including the Paralympic 400m freestyle record in 2008 and a world record for the 200m medley at the Rio Paralympics in 2016.
Besides her athletic accomplishments, Simmonds comes from a family of three sisters and one brother.
