About Ellen Tauscher
Ellen Tauscher was born on November 15, 1951, in New Jersey. She is a politician and a member of the Democratic Party who served in the U.S. House of Representatives from California from 1997 to 2009. In February 2012, she was appointed as Special Envoy for Strategic Stability and Missile Defense.
Prior to her political career, Tauscher worked as an investment banker after graduating from Seton Hall University. She is also known for co-chairing the Iraqi Women’s Caucus, Department of Energy Facilities Caucus, and Army Corps Reform Caucus during her time in the House.
Tauscher had a daughter named Katherine with her first husband William Tauscher; they were married from 1989 until 1999. In 2009, she married Jim Cieslak.
