About Ellen Oleria
Ellen Oleria is a Brazilian world music singer, songwriter, and musician born on November 12th, 1982 in Brasilia, Brazil. She first gained recognition as a member of the bands Pret.utu and Banda Soata before achieving solo success by winning the inaugural season of The Voice Brasil in 2012.
Before her rise to fame, Oleria had an early interest in music and was involved with her local church choir. She also studied performing arts at the University of Brasilia. In 2009, she released her debut solo album Peca followed by Ellen Oleria in 2013 and Afrofuturista in 2016.
Born in Brasilia and raised in Chaparral, Oleria married Poliana Martins in August 2013.
