Elizabeth Jordan Carr (born December 28, 1981) is a journalist best known as the first American baby conceived through in-vitro fertilization. Born in Virginia, she went on to work for the online edition of the Boston Globe.
Carr’s birth was a result of a pioneering in-vitro fertilization procedure conducted by doctors at Eastern Virginia Medical School. She later graduated from Simmons College in Massachusetts and worked for a Maine-based newspaper.
In 2010, Carr and her husband David Comeau welcomed their naturally conceived son, Trevor.
