Elizabeth D’Onofrio (born October 23, 1957) is an American TV actress known for her extensive career in acting and coaching. In 2020, she gained recognition for portraying Doris in the National Geographic/Disney+ series The Right Stuff. Alongside her brother Vincent and father Gene, she co-founded the RiverRun International Film Festival in North Carolina.
Prior to her rise to fame, D’Onofrio honed her craft at The American Stanislavsky Theatre and The Actor’s Studio in New York City. She also performed off-Broadway from 1980 to 1986. Notably, she played the mother in the 2007 comedy-drama film Simple Things and took on multiple roles as producer, writer, and actor in the 2005 film Awaken the Dawn.
D’Onofrio is a family woman with three children alongside her husband Shawn. Additionally, her niece Leila George is also an actress.
