Elissa Steamer, born on July 31, 1975 in Fort Myers, Florida, is a professional skateboarder. She gained fame as the first woman to make a career out of skateboarding and made her mark with multiple gold medals in the street competition at Summer X-Games events.
Stepping onto a skateboard in 1989 for the first time, Steamer earned her initial sponsorship from Toy Machine. Her breakthrough came when she turned professional after winning the Slam City Jam women’s street section in 1998.
Born in Fort Meyers and later settling in Richmond, California, Elissa Steamer has solidified her place as an influential figure within the skateboarding community.
