About Elisabetta Dami
Elisabetta Dami (born January 1, 1958) is an Italian children’s book author, best known for creating the popular character Geronimo Stilton. Her books have sold over 160 million copies worldwide and been translated into 49 languages by 2021.
Prior to gaining fame as an author, at age 15, she worked as a proofreader for her father’s publishing company. In addition to her literary pursuits, Dami is also an avid marathon runner who has competed in the 100km del Sahara Ultramarathon.
Dami comes from a family with ties to the publishing industry; her father, Piero Dami, was a successful publisher.
