About Eileen Sedgwick
Eileen Sedgwick was born on October 17, 1898, in Texas. She was a prominent movie actress during the silent film era and one of the Five Sedgwicks, having appeared in over 100 films.
Entering Hollywood as a teenager, she initially achieved moderate success before luck led her to replace an ailing star in Universal Studio’s film The Lure of the Circus.
Throughout her career, Sedgwick appeared in numerous serials and attempted to pursue more respectable roles by adopting the name Greta Yoltz. However, she continued to be cast in lower-budget productions.
Coming from a family with both parents as stage actors, Eileen’s entire family performed vaudeville acts as The Five Sedgewicks. Her brother also went on to become a director.
