About Eileen McNamara
Eileen McNamara is a Pulitzer prize-winning journalist born on May 30, 1952, in Massachusetts. Over the course of her career, she worked at the Boston Globe for over thirty years and was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Commentary in 1999.
Prior to her journalism career, McNamara earned her undergraduate degree from Barnard College and went on to graduate from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in 1976.
She contributed significantly to the Boston Globe’s coverage of the clergy sexual abuse scandal in 2003. McNamara is also known for her family life, having raised three children with her husband Peter May.
