Edna May Oliver was an American actress born on November 9, 1883 in Massachusetts. She gained recognition for her character roles in the 1930s, appearing in films such as Cimarron (as Mrs. Tracy Wyatt) and Little Women (as Aunt March). In 1939, she was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Supporting Actress category.
Prior to her acting career, Oliver dropped out of school at a young age to pursue a career as a stage actress. She also portrayed Aunt Penelope in the 1917 Broadway production of Oh, Boy!.
Oliver was married to David Welford Pratt from 1928 until 1933.
