About Dorothy Collins
Dorothy Collins was born on November 18, 1926 in Canada. She was a stage actress who gained recognition for her Tony-nominated performance in the original 1971 Broadway production of Follies.
Prior to her theatrical success, Collins began her career as a young girl singing on radio stations in Windsor, Ontario and Detroit, Michigan. She later became a lead singer on Your Hit Parade, a popular television music program that aired from 1950 to 1959.
In 1966, she married Ron Holgate; however, the couple divorced in 1980. Together they had three daughters named Deborah, Elizabeth, and Melissa.
