Donyale Luna, born on August 31, 1935 in Michigan, was an American fashion model and actress. She made history as the first African-American woman to grace the cover of British Vogue. Luna’s career saw her feature in notable films such as the 1972 Carmelo Bene film Salome and Federico Fellini’s 1970 production Satyricon.
