About Diana Vishneva
Diana Vishneva (born July 13, 1976) is a Russian ballet dancer known for her exceptional talent and versatility. She has held the prestigious position of principal dancer at both the Mariinsky Ballet (formerly the Kirov Ballet) and the American Ballet Theatre. Throughout her career, she has also graced the stages of other renowned companies such as the Bolshoi Ballet and Paris Opera Ballet.
Before achieving international acclaim, Vishneva was born in Leningrad before its renaming to St. Petersburg in 1991 with the fall of the Soviet Union. She honed her craft at the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet where she achieved record-breaking grades upon graduation in 1995. Subsequently, she swiftly ascended to become a principal dancer at Mariinsky Ballet Company by 1996.
Vishneva’s commitment to embracing diverse cultural influences manifested in her desire to extend beyond traditional Russian styles. This led to performances with various international companies including a contemporary ballet show in London where she offered personal input into choreography steeped in multicultural themes.
In addition to her illustrious dance career, Vishneva married Konstantin, a sports agent, in Hawaii during 2013.
