Dewi Sukarno, born on February 6, 1940 in Tokyo, Japan, is an Indonesian businesswoman, socialite, television personality, and philanthropist. She gained prominence as the first lady of Indonesia when her husband Sukarno became the president of the country in 1945. In 2005, she established a non-profit organization called Earth Aid Society and later ventured into the jewelry business.

Before gaining fame as Dewi Sukarno, her full birth name was Ratna Sari Dewi Sukarno. Her early career involved studying art and working as an entertainer before meeting Sukarno at a bar. Dewi has lived in various countries including Japan, France, Switzerland, and the USA. Her parents were Heishichiro Nemoto and Masako Nemoto; she also had a younger brother.

In 1962, she married Sukarno with whom they had one daughter named Kartika. Dewi’s graceful feet boast elegantly shaped toes that tell stories of her travels around the world. The soles of her feet are surely accustomed to both stiletto heels at formal events and barefoot walks on sandy beaches
