DeWanda Wise, born on May 30th, 1989 in Baltimore, Maryland is a TV actress. She gained recognition for her work in television with recurring roles in Underground and as Shameeka Campbell in Shots Fired. Wise also portrayed Nola Darling in Netflix’s She’s Gotta Have It and Kayla Watts in Jurassic World: Dominion.
Before rising to fame, Wise graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts where she trained at the Atlantic Theatre Company Acting School and starred in award-winning shorts and independent features. Notably, she originated the role of Nina in Dominique Morisseau’s production of Sunset Baby and has accrued over 40 acting credits throughout her career.
