Denise Gordy, born on November 11, 1949 in Michigan, is a notable family member and actress. She is best known for her roles in the films Reform School Girls (1986) and My Man Adam (1985). However, she is most famous as the niece of Motown legend Berry Gordy Jr. and as the mother of singer Marvin Gaye’s son Marvin Gaye III.
Prior to her acting career, Gordy made her screen debut in the 1974 feature Bogard (also known as Black Fist). Her television credits include guest appearances on Charlie’s Angels and Fantasy Island.
Gordy was born to Rosemary and George Gordy in Detroit, Michigan. Over a decade after giving birth to Marvin Gaye III, she married actor Richard Lawson and welcomed a daughter who would become actress Bianca Lawson.
