About Demya Walker
Demya Walker is a former professional basketball player, born on November 28, 1977 in Mount Holly, New Jersey. She began her WNBA career with the Portland Fire in 2000 and went on to play for the Monarchs, Sun, and Mystics before joining the New York Liberty in 2012. Prior to her professional career, she was part of the United States women’s basketball team that won bronze at the 1999 Pan American Games.
Before entering professional basketball, Walker set scoring and rebounding records playing at Rancocas Valley Regional High School. She then played college basketball at the University of Virginia where she graduated with school records in field goal percentage and blocked shots.
In April 2006, Walker gave birth to her daughter Zachara.
