About Delia Derbyshire
Delia Derbyshire was an English composer and musician, born on May 5, 1937 in England. She gained popularity for her electronic realization of Ron Grainer’s theme music to the television series Doctor Who.
Prior to her musical career, Derbyshire worked for the UN in Geneva where she taught piano to children of the British Consul-General and mathematics to the children of Canadian and South American diplomats.
In addition to her work on Doctor Who, she also collaborated with Sonic Boom as advisor and co-producer of the EAR LPs Vibrations and Continuum in 2000 and 2001.
Derbyshire married David Hunter in 1974.
