About Corinne Griffith
Corinne Griffith was born on November 21, 1894, in Texarkana, Texas. She was a notable movie actress known as The Orchid Lady of the Screen. In 1929, she won an Academy Award for her role in the film The Divine Lady. Additionally, Griffith appeared in films such as Pink Flamingos, Female Trouble, and Desperate Living.
She began her acting career at the age of 22 with Vitagraph Studios before transitioning to First National where she starred in The Garden of Eden. Despite being one of First National Pictures’ top stars during the 1920s, Griffith’s first talking picture performed poorly which hindered her transition from silent films to talkies.
Corinne Griffith was born to John Lewis Griffin and Ambolina Ghio in Texarkana, Texas.
