About Coosje van Bruggen
Coosje van Bruggen, born on June 6, 1942 in the Netherlands, was a renowned sculptor known for her large outdoor metalwork sculptures. She attended the University of Groningen to study art and later worked at the Stedelijk Museum. One of her most famous pieces is the Collar and Bow outside of the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. In 2002, her installation Cupid’s Span was erected in Rincon Park in San Francisco.
She was married to Claes Oldenburg, with whom she collaborated on many iconic sculptures.
