Connie Francis, born on December 12, 1938 in Newark, New Jersey, is a notable country singer. She achieved great success with the release of the hit “Who’s Sorry Now?” in 1958 and also starred in several movies including Looking for Love. During the 1950s and 1960s she was one of the most successful female solo singers.
Prior to her rise to fame, Francis participated in pageants and talent shows as a singer and accordion player. She also appeared on Startime Kids on NBC during the mid-1950s. Interestingly, she almost accepted a scholarship to New York University but decided to pursue music full-time instead.
Personal life-wise, Francis has been married four times – first to Dick Kanellis on August 15, 1964; then Izzy Marion on January 16,1971; next Joseph Garzilli on September16th ,1973;and lastly Bob Parkinson on June27th ,1985 . Her marriage with Garzilli resulted in a son named Joseph Jr.
