About Clara Westhoff
Clara Westhoff (September 21, 1878) was a German sculptor known for her work and as the wife of poet Rainer Maria Rilke. She received training from renowned artists Carl Seffner and Max Klinger after studying in Munich and attending a private art school. Additionally, she learned sculpture from Fritz Mackensen at a young age. In 1901, she married Rainer Maria Rilke in Worpswede.
