Cindy Klassen, born on August 12, 1979 in Winnipeg, Canada, is a Canadian speed skater. She achieved fame as a successful long track speed skater and made history by winning a gold medal in the women’s 1,500 meters and silver in the women’s 1,000 meters at the 2006 Olympics.
Before her Olympic success, Klassen attended Maple Leaf School in Winnipeg. In addition to her individual achievements at the Olympics, she also won a silver medal in team pursuit at the same event.
