About Christine and the Queens
Christine and the Queens, born Héloïse Letissier on June 1, 1988 in Nantes, France, is a pop singer known for her unique fusion of music, art, and performance. She gained recognition with the release of her debut album Chaleur Humaine in 2014, which peaked at #2 on the French charts.
Prior to her music career, Letissier studied theater at the Ecole normale supérieure de Lyon before relocating to Paris in 2010. During her time in London she found inspiration from local drag queen musicians who ultimately became her backing band. The “Queens” in Christine and The Queens pays homage to these individuals as well as all transgender people.
Born and raised in Nantes, France, Christine has openly stated that she identifies as pansexual.
