About Chris Jansing
Chris Jansing, born on January 30, 1957 in Ohio, is a prominent journalist known for her role as NBC News’ Senior White House Correspondent. Prior to this position, she hosted the MSNBC news program Jansing and Company and served as a substitute anchor for both NBC Nightly News and The Today Show. Jansing also worked as a reporter and anchor at Albany’s WNYT station.
Jansing began her career after graduating from Otterbein College with a degree in broadcast journalism. She held early-career positions at television and radio stations in Columbus, Ohio and Ticonderoga, New York respectively.
During her time at WNYT, Jansing gained recognition for her New York Emmy-winning coverage of the 1997 Olympics bombing incident in Atlanta, Georgia.
Born as the youngest of twelve children to Joseph and Tilly Kapostasy in Fairport Harbor, Ohio. Her marriage to chemist Robert Jansing began in 1982 but later ended in divorce.
