Chris Connor, born on November 8, 1927 in Missouri, was an American jazz singer known for her solo career and collaborations with bands such as Clyde Thornhill and Stan Kenton.
Connor made history by becoming the first white jazz singer to sign with Atlantic Records.
Prior to her musical pursuits, she played the clarinet for eight years in her youth and began singing publicly during college.
