Prior to her acting career, Fields was recruited by Ronnie Spector to help form The Ronettes, alongside whom she achieved success as part of the girl group. In addition to her musical endeavors, Fields had a memorable four-episode role as Janet Jackson‘s biological mother on Good Times.
