Chelsea Werner is a gymnast and model born on August 1, 1992, in California. Overcoming the challenges associated with Down Syndrome, she made a name for herself in the world of sports and modeling.
Werner’s journey as a gymnast began at the age of four when she started training to develop muscle strength. She continued her athletic pursuits by playing soccer and swimming from a young age. Werner attended San Ramon Valley High in Danville, California, where she was an active member of the cheerleading squad.
In 2012, Werner achieved recognition by competing in the first Special Olympics National Gymnastics Championships and winning the National Championship that year. Additionally, she has worked as a model for Teen Vogue, Target, H&M and Aerie.
Werner’s involvement with Special Olympics gymnastics began when her parents signed her up for training sessions led by coach Dawn Pombo. This dedication to honing her skills eventually led to international exposure through participating in a Special Olympics commercial filmed in Argentina.
