About Chelo Garcia-Cortes
Chelo Garcia-Cortes (born December 31, 1951) is a Spanish journalist known for her expertise in celebrity gossip and current events. She gained recognition through her appearances on various TV3 television programs as well as her role as a columnist for Hola! and Semana Magazine.
Before embarking on her journalism career, Garcia-Cortes obtained a degree in Journalism from the Faculty of Information Sciences of the Autonomous University of Barcelona. She began working at La Voz del Mino, a radio station in Ourense, in 1973 before transitioning to celebrity gossip at Radio Miramar and contributing stories to Hola! Magazine in 1975. Her television debut occurred in 1997 on the TV3 network.
Garcia-Cortes is also noted for co-authoring the book “Yo Acuso” with fellow journalist Jesus Locampos, which critically examines tabloid press.
She was born in Ourense, Spain and spent her childhood years in Madrid after relocating there at age three.
