About Charito Solis
Charito Solis (October 6, 1935 – January 9, 1998) was a Filipino movie actress known for her award-winning performances in various films. Born Rosario Violeta Solis Hernandez in Manila, Philippines, she made her film debut in Nina Bonita in 1955 and went on to win FAMAS Awards for her roles in Don’t Cry for Me, Papa (1984), Igorota (1969), Angustia (1964), Emily (1961), and Kundiman Ng Lahi (1960). She also received Gawad Urian Awards for her work in the films Karnal (1984), Kisapmata (1982), and Ina, Kapatid, Anak(1980).
In addition to her successful film career, she hosted The Charito Solis Show on ABS-CBN during the mid-to-late 1960s. Her uncle F.H. Constantino played a significant role in facilitating her entry into the film industry.
