CeCe Peniston is an American pop singer born on September 6, 1969 in Dayton, Ohio. She is best known for her hit single “Finally,” which reached #5 on the Hot 100 and #2 on the UK Top 75.
Peniston studied liberal arts at Phoenix College before starting her music career. One of her first professional gigs was as a backup singer for Tonya Davis.
In addition to her music career, she achieved the title of Miss Galaxy in 1990. She grew up in Dayton where she performed at her local church and has been married twice – once to Frank Martin Jr. from 2004 until 2011, and earlier to Malik Byrd for a year in the early ’90s. Afterward, she dated Marcus Matthews during their appearance on Celebrity Wife Swap but this relationship ended soon after the series completed.
