CCH Pounder, born on December 25, 1952, in Guyana, is a British Guiana-born actress. She is well known for her appearances on the television series The Shield and in the hit film Avatar. Pounder also starred in NCIS: New Orleans from 2014 until 2021.
After receiving an education in England, she relocated to the United States in 1970 to pursue her acting career. Throughout her career, she earned several Primetime Emmy Award nominations.
