About Cassandra Giraldo
Cassandra Giraldo is an award-winning photojournalist known for her work as an associate producer at VICE News Tonight on HBO. She was born on May 4, 1989, in the United States.
Giraldo’s photography has been exhibited internationally by organizations such as Getty Images and American Photography. With over 30,000 followers on Instagram, she frequently shares additional photos there.
Before starting her career, she graduated from Skidmore College with a BA in International Affairs and French in 2011. Following this, Giraldo completed the Photojournalism & Documentary Studies program at the International Center of Photography in 2012 and went on to earn a master’s degree in Investigative Reporting at Columbia’s Journalism School.
In addition to her accomplishments, Giraldo was added to a list of Top Emerging Photojournalists by Instagram in 2015 and appeared on the 30 Under 30 Women Photographers list by Photo Boite in 2016. Her work has also been featured in prominent publications like The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times.
Born and raised in New York City, she now resides in Brooklyn. Giraldo shared a photo with her brother Max on Instagram back in November of 2017.
